Cynthia Byrne studied at the National Art School,Sydney, and later at the College of Fine Arts, University of New South Wales. She has exhibited over the last 14 years, mostly still life paintings, and has experimented with different tempera formulas, always preparing her own ground.

She lives in the Blue Mountains outside Sydney.
