Good Art Education

In your opinion which art schools excel in their education?
My art training did not meet my expectation, I'm interested in other peoples experiences.

I'm especially interested to find out which institutions excel at teaching traditional art techniques.

I went to the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (or SAIC -- a bona-fide world-class museum-attached school, not at all affiliated with the somewhat chintzy for-profit chain which has schools with similar names ("The Art Institute of X") in lots of cities, except for here where because of the seniority of the SAIC it has to be called the "Illinois Institute of Art").

The SAIC is a pretty good school, although not for traditional art techniques. I would say it's more conceptual and intellectual.

I think you will find a very good list of the best artist training ateliers.
