Default Painting on velum

I have been thinking of trying to paint miniatures on vellum, my question is do you put one coat or more of RS glue gesso on the vellum? Or how do you get the vellum ready for painting with ET?

RSG glue can dry stronger than the wood itself if you make it that way. For woodworking it's usually diluted 1:1, or weaker depending on the job. By comparison, I make my gesso 1:11, which would be way too weak for joinery. The glue itself also comes in different strengths, but all of them will hold wood well.
