Default Animation & first try

I think I'm almost done with my first ET, and it is so fun! There are many things I'm interested in exploring... this one's colorful, but I'd like to explore more muted colors, and a finer hand. This time out I tried bright and loose. Please let me know if there's anything I'm doing blatantly wrong, as I'm always up for criticisms that help me learn. Anyways, here's a photo and a link to a little animation of the progress :)

Default Great first painting

Very nice for your first try. Seems like you understand the process. What size is this?

I like it a lot.

I don't know about muted, but you might want to try painting the skin with more closely-related colors. Your technique works very well in the hair and beard, but can look a little linear in smoother areas. Nothing wrong with that, but a lighter touch could get you much smoother skin tones, if that's what you want.

The composition and facial expression are lively and appealing. Good job.
