Question China pigments

Hi!
A friend or mine got a set of China dry pigments in jars. The question is can you use the china pigments for egg tempera or are they "not pure" pigments and have fillers in them for firing in a kiln.

Hope everyone has had wonderful holidays and looking forward to a prosperous ET year in 2010!!!

Rebecca

I guess the question is are they glazes or pigments. My knowledge of ceramics is thin, but I believe glazes have some ground glass in them, don't they? (Actually, you could still paint with them if they included glass, although they might be hell on brushes.) But if they are just pigments, they can be used with any painting medium, egg included.

Thank you for the information. That is what I was thinking. I think she needs to look up what is on the bottles. And probably take caution with the dry pigments.
