Default Anyone has experience fixing chipped corners?

My painting got damaged. Does anyone have experience fixing chipped corners? I don't know if applying gesso in consistency of putty would work.

Happy New Year to Everyone !!!

I would think that a small amount of plaster of paris applied with a small spatula would be easier to fix the chipped parts and have a stronger bond and then perhaps a light sanding and gesso layer to hold down the touch up paint. Of course matching the paint isn't always so easy and on a lot of my own repairs I'm tempted to just paint over the whole thing, in this case the red border with as close as match as I can get. Ironically, some broken, tainted, weathered, tattered effects can add their own aesthetic value to any given thing and if it is a work that means enough to me then I usually leave it alone, battle scars and all..
