My first tries.... a noob here but I love the feel of egg tempera. These painting are yolk, water and pigment, on hardboard with a traditional hide and gesso ground. The blueberry is 4" x 5" and the tomato is 5" x 6", with details added, thanks for looking.

Ooh, nice!

Congratulations. It's tricky to paint on that small a scale. Your work looks beautiful, like embroidery. I especially like your sense of light and color. The shadows are simultaneously dense and luminous. I love the mysterious halo around the blueberry.

Rich, they're both very nice, especially for a first try at ET. I think my favorite of the two is the tomato.
Keep painting more ETs.

they are both very fresh, I hope you can get into more complex table manners by mixing up more fruit & vegtables in different color variations.

Your small scale paintings actual give me that blunt color pencil feeling.

 ever painted an egg :!:

Thanks people for the kind words. I think I like the sketchy look of painting in ET when possible. I am doing 5 more ET's soon, I have completed 2 of them so far, they are all going to be 6" x 6". Rich
