Here is a small portrait I completed in between larger projects I am working on. Thank you for your thoughts as always.

Alex,
Cool painting. I love the loosened tie and disheveled collar. And what a richly furrowed face he has. Your technique is getting more and more competent. You're really building a nice collection of portraits, too.
There's just one little spot that catches my eye: an area near the subject's proper right eye. I wonder if the brightly highlighted fold of flesh and the upper cheek just beyond his eye and bridge of nose could be made a tiny bit darker? I know it's on the illuminated side of his face, but the high contrast against that dark eye seems to make that area come forward somewhat instead of turning around the volume of his head. What if you tested dimming that small spot in Photoshop to see if makes any difference?
Anyway, great painting, again. I sure hope I have the chance to see your work in person soon.
Best wishes,
Dennis

Dennis,
Thank you. I worked on it in photoshop and you were right. It pushed those areas back. Back to the easel. I appreciate your help.

Dennis,
I took your suggestion and fixed the painting.

Hey Alex,
It looks good both ways!
What I do like in the later version is how the nose now really comes forward, as well as the cheek bone closest to us.
I'm glad it worked out.
