It's been a while since I posted any work. This is the most recent painting I have completed.

Alex,
Congratulations, you have made amazing progress since your first painting of Moe. The flesh is lifelike and he is more expressive. The drapery is subtle and convincing. The composition is stronger without the still life and landscape. With more light on his face and increased contrast he seems more three dimensional. Part of me says you should deepen shadows and step up the contrast more, (NOT on this one) another part says no, the value balance and vibrant color are part of the special charm of your work, I love this painting. Don’t listen to either part of me.
How did you like working with egg/oil?

Thank you for your comments. Working with the egg/oil was nice however it took some getting used to.

I love the shadows you've created on the shirt and I think the values used are perfect. I'm a neophyte to ET so from a technical standpoint, I'll refrain from comment. However, I know a good painting when I see one and must say I think this is your best work, though I like all of your submissions to date.
