Jeannine Jourdan
Jeannine Jourdan creates egg tempera portraits of insects and animals. Her
love of the old masters tradition and the contemporary perspective she
brings to her subject matter evoke a mysterious and exotic quality to her
representational paintings.
After studying at CalArts school of Dance 1977-1979, Ms. Jourdan traveled extensively in India studying ecstatic dance and meditation. She received a BA in Art Therapy at New College of California in 1998. She was introduced to egg tempera by Chester Arnold at the College of Marin and continues studying with Koo Schadler.
Ms. Jourdan has done art work for the Sacred Art Project with Children in Hospice, the Sacred Art Exhibition of the California Arts Correction Program and, as an inside and cover illustrator, for the Little Wisdom Series by Book Laboratory.
