Rob Milliken
Rob Milliken was born in 1948 at Harwich, Essex, and
although he received no formal art education, he developed his
drawing and painting skills over a period of time and has
used a variety of mediums.
During the late 1980's he began using the egg tempera medium which
he now uses exclusively. This medium suits his methodical and
detailed method of painting.
Rob is inspired by coastal areas. His paintings are of
intimate close ups, whether they be of the battered sea defences
or of sea shore pebbles and stones. He searches for the
anthropomorphic qualities in his subjects and depicts them as such.
His work has been widely exhibited in Europe and the USA and has been included in a number of publications including "The Artist" and
"International Artist" magazines plus 2 hardback book publications.
