Patterns in Tempera

Because of the inherent nature of tempera, where one uses small brushes to paint, and lay down many layers of translucent paint, the medium lends itself greatly to the creation of pattern. The artists in this exhibit have incorporated patterning into their work in many different ways, from graphic imaging, to the capturing of patterns in nature.

We hope that you find this work inspirational and interesting.
